Floating Solar with Strong Engineering by SgurrEnergy

Exploring the Next Frontier in Solar Engineering Floating  Solar PV  (FPV) is redefining how the world harnesses solar energy—by tapping into the untapped potential of water surfaces . At  SgurrEnergy , we’re proud to be among the few engineering consultants actively delivering technically sound, scalable, and sustainable FPV solutions . While solar energy on land is well-established, installing solar panels on water brings its own set of unique engineering challenges —and we’re equipped to solve them. Why Floating Solar Requires a Different Approach Floating solar PV systems are far more than solar panels on pontoons. They demand specialized design expertise and a deep understanding of environmental and structural factors. Here’s what sets FPV engineering apart: Corrosion Risks High humidity and water exposure increase corrosion potential. Our designs incorporate durable materials and anti-corrosion treatments to ensure long-term performance. Wind ...

Devising robust solutions to harness the sun's energy on the surface of water. SgurrEnergy  has an engineering team capable of delivering projects for one of the most challenging solar PV frontiers. Preparing solutions for FPV requires special engineering skills. Discovering new frontiers in the quest to find sustainable solutions has always been an engineer's pursuit. FPV is one such avenue where we have successfully capitalized on the installation of floating solar panels on the water surface. The challenges of the water are different from the land, the solar panels need to be installed on the floats that consider various design critical parameters such as corrosion due to humidity in the vicinity, the wind speeds and hydrodynamic loads that would determine the anchors and mooring lines, the location, water type and type of structures predominantly dictate the design of the solution. This is a relatively new entrant in the  Solar PV  segment, and demands a...
